Lash lift and tint is an amazing lash flattering transformation, Eye lashes give definition to your eyes. So, when we perm your lashes from the root it uplifts and curls them from the base of the lash making them look longer, then applying tint makes them stand out dramatically. Mascara isn’t necessary once this treatment has been completed however you still can if you wish once the aftercare period is complete.
The lash lift is the process which curls your lash from base to tip so that you can see the full length. Though all lashes have a natural shape to them, this process alters that shape via a tiny curling rod and a lifting solution. However, the treatment should always be performed by a qualified professional.
The lash tint means an artificial dye for colouring the hair. Therefore, an eyelash tint consists of adding a unique shade to your eyelashes, giving you weeks of dark, full lashes without the assistance of mascara. All you need is to recline in a salon chair, and a technician applies the dye to your lashes while you keep your eyes closed for about 10 minutes. It’s a quick, relatively painless process.
There are a few things that you must consider before your lash lifting and tinting appointment. These may include:
- Eyelash extensions need to be removed at least three days to 1 week before the appointment.
- Avoid using waterproof mascara or curling your lashes 2-4 days before your treatment.
- No eye makeup on the day of your appointment, for instance, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner etc.
- Remove all of your eye makeup with Oil-free makeup remover the day earlier.
- It is good to wash your hair before your session as you need to avoid getting your lashes wet post treatment.
- You must remove contact lenses before the procedure. Most importantly, if you have had eye surgeries as such eyelid lifts and LASIK, please wait for minimum 6-12 months before having the process done.
Patch Test
The most crucial step is to ensure you have had a patch test carried out. This is where a few drops of the solutions are placed on your skin for at least 48 hours to ascertain any allergies or reactions.
The Curling Rod or Shield
There are three different sizes of shields. The larger size is more suitable for long natural lashes which need just a slight lift. The medium size is suited for most clients; this gives an intense lift without being curled, suitable for medium to long lashes.
Small size is suited for shorter natural lashes or those who want to create a very permed look. The lashes are then gently tacked back onto the shield upwards using the bonding gel. The straighter the lashes, the better the outcome as the bonding agents will leave the lashes in the exact position that the hairs have adhered in.
The Lifting Balm
In this step, a balm is applied to the lashes. It is to break down the disulphide bonds and breaks up the shape and structure of the lashes. It’ll then be rebuilt in the second stage and left on for the tailored amount of minutes to suit your hair type.
The Fixing lotion
Now a fixing lotion will be applied to repair those broken bonds to fuse using the shield curl as a guideline. Hence leaving you with the curl you are after, you need to wait further tailored amount of minutes.
Tinting
In this step, the lashes are given a boost of colour. There are various shades of tint to choose from ranging from blue-black, black, dark brown, brown, and so on. The lash lift and tint expert mixes and applies colour to the lashes for a few minutes before thoroughly cleansing.
The Nourishing Solution
This solution will help your lashes to renourish and removes any residues of dye or lotions. Using a clean mascara wand can flutter the lashes to dry out. And voila! You have lifted and tinted lashes that you were desire for so long!
Lash Lift Aftercare
Stay away from water, steam, eye make-up, and make-up remover for the next 24 hours after your lift. As with any perming treatment, exposure to moisture and humidity straight afterwards can ruin the result. After 24 hours have elapsed, you can treat your lashes as usual – there’s no need to change your make-up routine or stop cleansing your face. Some professionals advise using a conditioning treatment like coconut oil to keep your lashes healthy and nourished post-lift.
